The Kissimmee store opened in 2000.  Charlie Parker, who is also the manager of the Orlando and Lakeland stores, serves in that same capacity here.  The territory is supported by four outside salespersons.

Charlie is supported by 2 counterpersons and a delivery specialist.  In 2004 the Kissimmee team received the Ben’s Award for Sales Excellence.  The 2008 Dedication Award, which usually goes to an individual, was presented to them for their continual team effort, reflected again in 2010 with the Award for Store Excellence.  The Kissimmee store is our closest location to the PPG warehouse, helping us to fill those unusual orders more quickly.  They are also the closest store to Mickey!  Give them a call – they deliver!

Team Members

Charlie Parker cparker@bensps.com	Charlie currently serves as the manager of our Orlando, Kissimmee and Lakeland stores. In 2013 he was promoted to serve as Regional Manager to include those stores plus Longwood.  A Florida native born in Daytona Beach, he started with Ben’s in 1978 as a delivery driver. He became the manager of our Deland store when it opened in 1983. In 2001, he was offered the challenge of managing our Orlando store and has helped it grow to one of our premier locations.  In 2008 he gained the added responsibility of overseeing the Kissimmee store and in 2011 the Lakeland store, so on any given day you may find him traveling.  He’s an award winner, having received the Ben’s Award for Leadership in both 2002 & 2008, the Pursuit of Excellence Award in 2005, and the inaugural Ben Kimball Legacy Award in 2009.  In 2013, he received the Core Value Award.  Charlie has a daughter that attends college at USF in Tampa. He is a big NASCAR fan and enjoys tennis, biking, disc golf and walking. He is continually dedicated to customer service and the success of Ben’s as a whole.
Willy Hidalgo whidalgo@bensps.com	Willy joined the Ben’s team in February 2014 as an inside sales associate at the front counter in Orlando. In Dec. 2015 he transferred to our Kissimmee store.  We were fortunate to have acquired a man with his depth of experience, having been in the auto body supply business since 1990, and working for several jobbers. At one point in time he ran a store location in New York and later on, another one in Florida. He has background in PPG, DuPont (or Axalta), BASF and Sherwin-Williams paint lines, and will now be able to build on that repertoire by expanding his product knowledge into serving our other coatings industries as well. Willy was born and raised in New York. He served our country for 4 years in the U.S. Army and received an honorable discharge. Like many Florida residents, Willy’s family eventually grew tired of northern winters and headed south. Willy has a wife and one son, who is currently pursuing a trade as a dental assistant. He enjoys his free time on weekends, serves his church and especially enjoys his Bible class education.
Kenny Coates kcoates@bensps.com 321-246-4793	Kenny’s lifetime business experience has been in paint sales.  Before coming to Ben’s he was both a counterperson and a manager.  He moved from his home in Largo, FL and became a part of the Ben’s team in Dec. 1998.  He served as the Orlando store manager until 2002 when he switched to outside sales.  Although primarily home-based with the Orlando store, he also serves some accounts in the Kissimmee and Longwood markets.  His success in sales is marked by his accomplishments, having received the Ben’s award for Sales Excellence in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2011 and 2012!  Kenny has grown to appreciate the family atmosphere he experiences while working at Ben’s.  In his free time, he enjoys the beach, the gym and spending time with his family.
Edisson Gavilanes egavilanes@bensps.com	Eddie currently serves as a color specialist on the automotive side. He was born in Ambato, Ecuador and moved to the USA in 1981 (New Jersey). Having moved to Orlando in 1989, he joined the Ben’s team in 2004 as a distribution specialist and was promoted to color specialist in 2006, during which year he received the Ben’s Award for Color Specialist of the Year. Being fluent in both Spanish and English, he also assists with our Spanish speaking customers. Eddie is ambitious and looks forward to furthering his education in the automotive refinish business and plans to progress to other areas of our company. He is married and has 3 children and 4 grandchildren. He enjoys going to church and working for the Lord.
