PPG Donates to Haiti Relief
Many individuals and organizations are making donations of cash and supplies to various reputable relief groups in an effort to provide emergency care for victims of the recent earthquakes in Haiti.  PPG employees are also among those generous individuals and recognizing that, PPG will donate matching funds when employee gifts exceed $25.00 or more.  PPG donations are being made to the American Red Cross International Response Fund.  Read the article here.  The links to the Red Cross that appear in the article are currently not functioning so click here if you wish to donate.   They have also set up a special fund called the Haiti Relief and Development Fund.  Thank-you for your gift.

ATTENTION COLLISION SHOPS!!!
Some of you may know that the deadline for collision shop compliance to the HHHHHH rule is Jan. 10, 2011.  What you may not know is that pre-compliance Initial Notification of intent to comply is due to the EPA this January (01/11/10).  PPG has dedicated a page on their website to help you weed through and understand the nature of the rule: https://corporateportal.ppg.com/NA/Refinish/PPGRefinish/3-0-SafetyHealth/EN/RulesRegs.  Exemption from the rule is possible, but verification and proof of product use would still be needed. If you have questions about the rule, PPG and Ben's stand ready to help you find the answers.  PPG has recently scheduled some special certification classes to be held at the Orlando Training Center - Feb. 8 and March 19.  The fee will be $25.00. Classes are 2 hours and run from 8:30AM - 10:30AM.  Call your nearest Ben's location to get the process going.

Discovery Day 2010
On Feb. 9&10, PPG invites all interested parties to Discovery Day 2010, to be held at the Orlando Training Center.  It's an unusual opportunity to obtain free introductory training in areas such as Repair Planning, overview of Waterborne Technology, overview of available PPG management training courses and the application of modern techniques such as 5S Organization and Lean Six Sigma.  Use this form to register.  It is guaranteed to be eye-opening!

We need pictures!  If you have photos of your work that you would like to display in our Photo Albums, send them to bstahmann@bensps.com (.jpg, .tif or .gif formats only please). You should be a Ben's customer and obviously we prefer that the paint work was done in PPG or one of the systems that we sell. Send in your name, company name and the type of paint that was used. We can't promise that they will all be posted, but we can promise that they will all be considered.
