MVP Conference to be held in Orlando Sept. 19-21

NACE Las Vegas is Coming Soon!
Mark your calendars and book your flights for Oct.10-13.  This year's NACE convention will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas.  For the first time ever, they have moved the dates up to a time slot away from the SEMA show.  Check out the NACE website for registration, events and seminars, travel discounts and other information.

Special 3M/I-Car Class held in Lakeland
On May 13, 3M and our Lakeland store held a special I-Car class on masking techniques and procedures.  The class covered everything from taping techniques to bagging and overspray protection.  18 technicians attended the unique class, plus two 3M reps and our folks from the Lakeland store.  If you would like us to hold a class like this in your area, give one of our store managers or outside salespersons a call.  Just click on Locations to the left to get contact info.

ATTENTION COLLISION SHOPS!!!
Some of you may know that the deadline for collision shop compliance to the HHHHHH rule is Jan. 10, 2011.  What you may not know is that pre-compliance Initial Notification of intent to comply is due to the EPA this January (01/11/10).  PPG has dedicated a page on their website to help you weed through and understand the nature of the rule: https://corporateportal.ppg.com/NA/Refinish/PPGRefinish/3-0-SafetyHealth/EN/RulesRegs.  Exemption from the rule is possible, but verification and proof of product use would still be needed. If you have questions about the rule, PPG and Ben's stand ready to help you find the answers. 

PPG has recently scheduled some special certification classes.  The next one will be at the Orlando BDC on August 30.  The fee is $25.00. Classes are 2 hours. Check out the course description and call your nearest Ben's location to get the process going.

Ben's and DeVilbiss are also teaming up to help out.  Our Orlando store is sponsoring a rule 40 meeting at the store on September 8 at 5:30PM.  Registration fee is $10.00 and you must pre-register.  For details, click here.

You can fax the completed notification form to the Region IV EPA office in Atlanta at 404-562-9095.

Photos & FAQ's
We need pictures!  If you have photos of your work that you would like to display in our Photo Albums, send them to bstahmann@bensps.com (.jpg, .tif or .gif formats only please). You should be a Ben's customer and obviously we prefer that the paint work was done in PPG or one of the systems that we sell. Send in your name, company name and the type of paint that was used. We can't promise that they will all be posted, but we can promise that they will all be considered.
